"장수의 하늘로 쏘아 올리는 열정, 전야제의 서막을 여는 버티컬 레이스" VK 코스는 메인 대회가 열리기 전날인 금요일 오후, 축제의 시작을 알리는 특별한 이벤트 레이스입니다. 대회장에서 출발하여 논개활공장 정상까지 4km 구간 동안 누적고도 500m를 치고 오르는 이 코스는, 짧지만 강렬한 심박수를 느끼고 싶은 러너들에게 짜릿한 쾌감을 선사합니다. 기록 경쟁도 좋지만, 다음 날 이어질 메인 레이스를 위해 가볍게 몸을 예열(Warm-up)하고 참가자들과 함께 호흡하며 '커뮤니티'를 형성하는 것이 이 레이스의 진짜 목적입니다. 탁 트인 활공장 정상에서 장수의 노을을 바라보며 전야제의 낭만을 즐겨보세요. [코스 및 복귀 안내] 레이스 구간은 오르막 4km(편도)입니다. 하지만 피니시 지점인 정상에서 다시 대회장으로 도보 복귀해야 하므로, 실제 참가자가 이동하는 총거리는 약 8km입니다. 하산 시 체온 유지를 위한 윈드재킷 지참을 권장합니다.
The Verticalrace is a special pre race event held on Friday afternoon to kick off the festival weekend. This Short & Strong course challenges runners to climb 500m of elevation over a 4km distance, starting from the main venue up to the scenic Nongae Paragliding Site. While it is a race, the true spirit of this event lies in community and preparation. It serves as an excellent warm up for the main events the following day and offers a chance to network with fellow trail runners. Reach the summit, catch your breath, and enjoy the breathtaking sunset views of Jangsu. The competitive race distance is 4km uphill only. However, please note that there is no transportation from the finish line; participants must hike back down to the venue. Therefore, the total moving distance is approximately 8km. We strongly recommend carrying a windbreaker to stay warm during the descent.
